Ever since I was a child, I was passionate about both the arts and nature. I arrived in Edmundston, New Brunswick, in 1976 from Laval, Quebec, I was very impressed by the area’s closeness to nature. Since 2008, I live in the countryside. I’m surrounded everyday by nature that inspires me so much! I am more aware of the animal world and its environment.
I have since many years oriented my work towards animal painting. I use acrylic and watercolor for my subjects that I photograph beforehand. For the implementation of the sketch, I begin with a technique of grisaille, I apply thereafter a multitude of tiny layers of glaze, I finish with some touch ups to highlight certain details of my subject. The primary goal is to make the subject as realistic as possible.
